Resource and Deployment Planning:
- Plan and allocate resources, including equipment, infrastructure, and manpower, to ensure optimal deployment throughout the project.
- Collaborate closely with the Time Keeper / Deployment Specialist to manage workforce deployment and ensure that all teams are adequately staffed at each phase.
Forecasting and Risk Management:
- Continuously update project forecasts based on progress reports and any emerging risks or delays.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges, ensuring that the project remains on track.
Reporting Structure
The Project Planner reports directly to the Project Manager, ensuring close coordination between planning and on-site execution.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field. PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of shipbuilding, especially Specialised vessels; proficiency in resolving design clashes and using high-tensile steel.
- Project Management: Experience in large-scale marine projects, skilled in MS Project/Primavera, and dynamic project planning.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent coordination skills with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making under pressure with a focus on maintaining timelines and quality.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail in planning and execution, with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Flexibility: Adaptable to changing project requirements and challenges.
- Resource Planning: Experience in equipment, infrastructure, and manpower deployment.
