Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What is crew management?
Crew management is the full employment cycle of the people who run your vessel — sourcing and vetting them, verifying and tracking certification, training them for the specific ship and trade, planning rotations, arranging travel and insurance, running payroll, and handling everything from sign-on to repatriation. The owner keeps the asset; we carry the manning obligation and the compliance that comes with it.
Who employs the crew — you or us?
Either arrangement is workable and it is agreed at contract stage. Most owners prefer we act as the manning agent so that employment administration, payroll and MLC obligations sit with us.
Which nationalities do you recruit?
We recruit across the mix owners typically require, and match nationality to flag state requirements, trading pattern and crew budget rather than defaulting to one source country.
How do you handle certification and STCW compliance?
Every certificate is verified at recruitment and tracked to expiry, with renewals scheduled ahead of the date so no seafarer joins or remains on board with a lapsed document.
What happens if a crew member has to be repatriated?
We arrange the relief, the travel and the medical or consular support required, and keep the owner informed throughout. Contingency for this is built into the manning plan rather than handled as an exception.
